THE NERVOUS SYSTEM / The most complicated and highly organized of the various systems which make up the human body. It is the mechanism concerned with the correlation and integration of various bodily processes and the reactions and adjustments of the organism to its environment. In addition the cerebral cortex is concerned with conscious life.
THE BRAIN / constitutes the upper, greatly expanded part of the central nervous system.
ORGANS OF THE SENSES / Senses are physiological capacities of organisms that provide data for perception.
MUSCULAR SYSTEM / An organ system consisting of skeletal, smooth and cardiac muscles. It permits movement of the body, maintains posture, and circulates blood throughout the body. The muscular system in vertebrates is controlled through the nervous system, although some muscles (such as the cardiac muscle) can be completely autonomous.
