ICON / Barbie –

Barbie was born in 1959 and has been a source of inspiration since then.
Not only she inspires young girls, she has also become an iconic figure many artists and creative souls like to reinterpret, questionning beauty ideals and stereotypes.

Legong beauties

Legong is a refined dance form Bali characterized by intricate finger movements, complicated footwork, and expressive gestures and facial expressions. Legong probably originated in the 19th century as royal entertainment

Traditional performances of Legong dance and Ramayana can be seen in Ubud. I was fascinated by the intensity of the dancers’ face expressions, their gracefulness and the beauty of their costume.
