“Tableau” is a large-scale ceramic installation by Rose Eken shown at V1 gallery in Copenhagen. Through an extensive research period, Eken corresponded with contemporary artists around the world and received photos of their studios, working tables and tools. Based on the material Eken has created a large meta studio in ceramics – a fictional atelier – where every object refers back to a specific artist’s practice and working environment.

We are all water, 2006
You are water
we’re all water in different containers
that’s why it’s so easy to meet
someday we’ll evaporate together
but even after the water’s gone
we’ll probably point out to the containers
and say, “that’s me there, that one”.
we’re container minders

The flamingos forest is without a doubt my favorite.
What an inspiring artist.
In her Landscape series, the artist manages to blend in completely with ornate wallpaper in an explosion of colors and patterns. Very beautiful. I wonder if Garden State inspired her…
